Payment of Stadia

So I just subscribed to the Stadia 2 month Trial, when I noticed that Google took €1 from my account. Not being a huge amount, I'm still interested in finding out why they would take money when this isn't stated anywhere and the trial is promoted as being free?

this is not related to Stadia, this is more related to the credit card verification process by Google Pay.

If you would use an already existing credit card in the Google Payment chooser, than there would be no charge at all.

Your Stadia subscription is and will be free.

Thanks for the feedback! One further question, is there any way to get that money back? I haven’t received any information that I would have to pay €1 for the confirmation of the subscription which seems odd.
