Again thanks, I've tried Chrome (latest), Edge or Canary will not load. It is because my version is 10.9.5 and not latest version. Later OS's will not update. Sorry to have troubled you so much, thanks.

Hello @Ronask

I would try playing one of the free games on your iMac first (e.g., Destiny 2) just to make sure you're happy with the experience on that hardware. I know that machine can't be upgraded to macOS 11 (Big Sur), which means it will only be able to support the H.264 codec, and will therefore be limited to the 1920x1080 resolution. As such, you may not want to spend the extra money on the Stadia Pro subscription (which provides access to extra games, 4k resolution, and surround sound). So, if you try out Destiny 2 and it runs well enough, and you don't need the Stadia Pro features, you can just buy the Baldurs Gate 3 game and play it as much as you want without any extra monthly costs.

Thanks Syre, I tried but Stadia apparently needs updated Chrome and despite my uninstalling Chrome and re-installing. Stadia says Chrome browser needs updating. Ive had this problem before on my Imac it seems not to be able to recognise latest version of Chrome. Anyways thanks for the help.

I just launched a game successfully in the latest version of Chrome (87) on my 2011 iMac, and it worked fine. If you have that version of Chrome, you might check to make sure you don't have any extensions installed (like an ad blocker) that might be interfering.

Thanks (as usual), Chrome says is update but Stadia (and it has happened with Netflix, so I use Firefox) says not latest Chrome version, although it is. I managed to load Destiny 2 on the Boot Camp with Windows 7, unfortunately super glitchy. I also loaded Hitman, which seemed to work okay. It does not seem that Stadia is great for me from Imac (although presumably same spec as yours), although it does seem to hinge on Chrome Browser discrepancy. Again can I thank you for your help. Do not worry abou it, I'll probably unscribe from Stadia unfortunately.

Stadia also works on Microsoft Edge, you can try with that.

You can also try downloading Chrome Canary (not sure if it's available for mac OS but you can check).
